Day 10: Grand Canyon

We finally made it to Grand Canyon! We (the parents) had been through once before right after we were married, but the kids had not seen it yet.
The four beautiful women in my life.
The handsome man in our lives.
First view. Big. Obviously, pictures don't do it justice.
View from inside the watchtower, built in 1933. This was arriving late in the afternoon and the wind was blowing and we were all pretty cold. We were happy for heat in the RV that night. I think it went down to 21 F. Katherine unfortunately slept up in the overhead loft and the principle of heat rising didn't work in the RV. She froze that night.
Here kitty kitty kitty. Never saw any.
We DID see some of these though. Two bull elk with their antlers in velvet. These two guys were right in the entrance of our RV park when we checked in. Thought they were pets...they were not.  The clerk said they come in and  make their rounds each night.
                                                                                   Oh, it is so pretty.....
I must go and be one with the Grand Canyon.

I think I will stay here and NOT be one with the Grand Canyon.

Phillip-

Hey I've got a great idea, lets ride bikes to the Grand Canyon instead of driving. NOT!

This isn't our picture, but we did see California Condors. They were nearly extinct, but are making a slow come back. We were told there are only 60 in AZ and we saw 5.
