Travel with Us: The Benefields

These are the tales of our family moving with the military. Our latest posting is our family's move from Hawaii back to the mainland and our cross country journey. We'll try to update it daily. Enjoy!

Day 19: Eastern Wyoming

Someone told us about this National Monument called Devil's Tower. We weren't sure if the stop would be worth it, but it was and we're glad we stopped.
This rock formation is known for the vertical ridges that run up the sides and it makes it destination for rock climbers. It was cold and foggy and basically unpleasant and I can't imagine rock climbing in that weather.
Our excitement grew as we saw the prairie dog sign, and after looking at the ground for a few seconds, we discovered that they were everywhere!
Sadly, we could not feed them (the same with all the other animal signs)
The sign said nothing about chasing them..
So that is what we did.
One of them on the lookout. (cute little fuzzball)
You know you want this on your roof.
We saw a turkey, and after taking 15 pictures and gobbling at it, we got to drive on.
I think everyone knows each other pretty darn well.
